Our Pinot Cask matured whisky has been seasoned in a premium French Oak barrique which has held Pinot Noir wine from our friends at Picardy in Pemberton. And this current release – NULLAKI 0015 – is already an award winner.
Given its aging in a red wine barrel, it imparts an elegant red fruit flavour, but is well balanced with a strong malt undertones. To quote the judges from the World Whisky Awards – it has a strong sense of cloves, a chilli spice kick and a sweet touch of balsamic.
Once described by someone who may have tried too much of it as a ‘summer whisky’, its slightly drier finish makes for enjoyable savouring that isn’t overpowered by sweetness.
